PMS, channel manager or booking planner: choose by problem, not feature count
A bigger product is not automatically a better fit. The right category depends on whether you need distribution automation, a broad property-operation system, or simply a reliable booking and performance control layer.

Channel manager: when distribution is the problem
If the same units sell on several OTAs and you need availability and rates updated automatically, that is the core job of a channel manager.
PMS: when you need to run many property processes
Depending on the product, a PMS can cover invoicing, housekeeping, guest communication, booking engine, check-in and automation. That scope is valuable if you actually use it.
Booking planner: when you want control with less setup
MAXORI deliberately stays narrower: calendar, bookings, recorded payments, channels and commissions, expenses, profit, occupancy, ADR and RevPAR.

A simple decision matrix
If manual OTA updates are the pain, look at channel management. If multiple property processes are the pain, look at a PMS. If booking order and operational/economic control are the pain, a planner can be enough.
- OTA sync → channel manager
- Broad operations → PMS
- Bookings + control → booking planner
Simplicity only works if the manual parts are acceptable
With MAXORI, OTA bookings are entered manually and external portals are updated separately. It is intended for operators whose booking volume makes that workflow reasonable.
When NOT to choose MAXORI
- If automatic OTA sync is essential, choose a channel manager.
- If you need a booking engine, guest invoicing, housekeeping, dynamic pricing or broad automation, choose a broader platform.
